Aneta Piekut je viša predavačica na Sheffield Methods Institute Univerziteta u Šefildu. Specijalizovala se za proučavanje međunarodnih migracija i međuetničkih odnosa, uključujući integraciju, prostornu segregaciju i stavove prema etničkim manjinama. Objavljuje u vodećim naučnim časopisima o problemima međunarodnih migracija, etniciteta i segregacije (npr. Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, European Sociological Review, Sociology, Social Science Research, Social & Cultural Geography, Journal of Economic and Social Geography (TESG)).
