Marija Antić (maiden name Martinović) is an Associate professor at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Geography, Department of Human geography, where she gives lectures on the antropogeography, geography of settlements and geography of rural development and rural restructuring at the levels of under-graduate, Master and PhD studies. Her research interests are related to human geography, predominantly rural geography, impact of migration processes on rural development and transformation of rural areas of Serbia and SEE. She has been working on four national and five international projects, organized by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), which were dealing with development issues of Serbia and South-Eastern Europe. She has published more than 50 papers in the peer-reviewed journals, including two scientific monographs and four chapters in monographs. She participated in many conferences and seminars in Serbia an EU. Also, she participated in organization of International Scientific Conferences ’’Contemporary migration in a changing world: new perspective and challenges’’. Over a last decade she spent considerable time at a fieldwork conducting different human geographic topics and issues mainly in Serbia and SEE.
